Getting Our Market Diva On With Justina Blakeney

I am formally reporting for duty for the High Point Furniture Market. This Market feels different. I realize we all go to market twice a year in this delightful town of Bar-B-Que and hustling Home Décor – but this market feels Next Level. New. And Bold. There’s tons of new stuff happening like that cool “The Point” Innovation Square that Fashion Snoops is doing. Market now has a Town Square. It’s like “Back to the Future” High Point Market – and I like it!

Putting on my braggy hot pants here... I thought I would share, because this little design studio that breaks all the rules, throws paint around, and makes everything to order made it on the cover of the entire Market Magazine! What? It's true... I think I’m tooting my own horn about it because the title is so cute and I’m completely embracing the words: LOVE FOUND. Isn’t it delightful? I think it pretty much wraps up the spirit of market and how we all come together. I have a “market family” and “market besties." It's funny, I have an entire social and professional world that was born and continues to be supported only at trade shows and market. In fact, it’s almost like we’re carnies but in a good way – with fabulous shoes and amazing sense of aesthetic and color.
All these seasoned eyes of my colleagues, partners, buyers. It really inspires me ( I’m sure all designers) to put my best stiletto forward. And that is exactly what we are all preparing to do!
