Burning Sage, also known as "smudging,"  is an ancient spiritual ritual. The most-used types of Sage have antimicrobial properties. This means they keep infectious bacteria and viruses at bay.  It is not a cure for anything, but is believed to be helpful.  Smudging may also be used to rid yourself or your space of negative energy.  Smudging has been known to help you establish a positive environment. Choosing to let go of negativity when smudging is an easy way to set your intentions and dedication to self-improvement. It can be the beginning of your change in mindset. Tradition suggests that smudging can literally lift one’s spirits, reduce negativity, and aid in better sleep.
