A series of different fibers are worked using traditional felting techniques to fuse silk chiffon, wool batting, and cotton indigo scraps left over from making pillows. It is a type of “Wet Felting”, though Aviva calls it her “Meditation” similar to what knitting may be to some. She hand fuses the finest of merino wools, metallic braid findings, with pure silks, flax and cashmere and the extra findings. The end result is a brand new textile. This collection is a fusion of both ancient and modern and is permanently collected by the Brooklyn Museum's Decorative Arts Collection. It is hand made in her design studio in Southern California.
